Event Information

Scarecrow Scamper is normally a 5K held by the sisters of Phi Sigma Rho to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. However this year in order to stay safe during Covid-19 we have transformed Scarecrow Scamper into a spooky week long virtual distance competition that will take place 10/25 through 10/31.  Competitors who log the most distance will win prizes provided by our donors!  Raffle participants will also have the opportunity to win prizes! The $5 competition fee, as well as proceeds from the raffle and Redbubble merchandise, will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This event is a great opportunity to take advantage of the fall weather and take a break from screens while supporting Leukemia and Lymphoma research and patients. As always make sure to wear a mask if you plan to walk through public spaces during the competition. Please register using the links at the bottom of the page before the 12 a.m 10/23 deadline! 

  

Steps to Register for Scarecrow Scamper

1. Make a Fitbit Account

2. Set up Mobiletrack on your Fitbit App

3. Add psruf.scarecrowscamper@gmail.com as a friend on Fitbit

4. Pay the $5 Competition Donation on GoFundMe 

5. Screenshot your GoFundMe Donation

6. Fill out the Google Registration Form 

7. Check out our cool raffle prizes and Redbubble merchandise

8. Email psruf.scarecrowscamper@gmail.com with any questions or concerns

More Detailed Registration and Fitbit Account Setup Instructions

In order to participate in the Scarecrow Scamper Virtual Distance Competition you have to download the free Fitbit mobile app and make an account. You do not need a Fitbit device to participate, though you are welcome to use one, the app will measure the distance you covered.  In order for the app to measure the total distance you traveled throughout the competition be sure to enable access to your location through the settings on your mobile device. After you have enabled location access, under your account information in the Fitbit app select the devices menu. From there you can either link your Fitbit device to the app, or you can choose to set up mobile track to use your phone to measure your total distance. Then on the Fitbit App select the community menu and then select Friends. From there you should add psruf.scarecrowscamper@gmail.com as a friend through email. Once you are finished setting up your account please use the the GoFundMe link below to pay the $5 competition donation. Screenshot your donation, because you will be required to submit proof of your donation in the registration form. After you have completed all the above steps use the Scarecrow Scamper registration link below to sign up for the competition. The deadline to register and set up your account for the competition is October 23rd at 12 a.m. If you have any questions about your account set up, the registration process, or if you are unsure about whether you completed the process properly please email us for assistance!
